It's a little late, but I still made it to Day 2 of Spreading Kindness!
This next way to spread kindness is kind of an add-on to smiling. Take smiling one step further and actually ask a stranger how their day is going. It can be scary, I know. An easy way to do this is to ask someone while you are making a purchase. For instance, if you happen to be buying something at Target and the cashier asks you how you are doing, you can ask them back. Really simple :)
I think that it is so important to be nice to the people who are helping us out at stores..maybe it's just because I have worked at Target and Starbucks, but some people can be so rude over a shirt or a cup of coffee. It makes me wonder how they would react when something really serious happens, but that's another story.
"Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God's Law and Prophets and this is what you get."

Spreading Kindness Day #2
Monday, October 3, 2011
Ok so...I thought long and hard about what my theme should be for the 31-day blogging challenge and I chose....
SPREADING KINDNESS! :)
If there is one thing our world is lacking in, it is kindness. I was inspired to do this theme when I was reading through Hebrews yesterday. I came across this verse:
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
-Hebrews 13:2 ESV
I think that it is important to be kind not just to the people we like, but to everyone...which I know is tough sometimes. I think that if we try this, we will find a greater joy in life like we've never known before.
So..for the next 31 days you will find ways to spread kindness in your corner of the world.
On that note, here is #1:
Smile! :) Here I am in my PJ's giving you my best brightest smile, haha. But seriously, try smiling at a stranger today. It could brighten their day! I know it has brightened mine when a stranger smiles at me.
Remember it only takes 14 muscles to smile and 72 to frown! (I can't scientifically prove that...but you get the point.)

SO...I was reading one of my favorite blogs: Biblical Homemaking, and Mandy's post was about thrifting (personally one of my favorite things to do). She is doing a 31-day blogging challenge and her theme is thrifting. If this is something you enjoy, I suggest you check it out. There are a lot of helpful tips :) Anyway, I was intrigued about the 31-day challenge and I want to hop in on it too!
Currently, I don't have a theme...I'll have to think about it.
Any suggestions? Leave me a little note :)
